Metal Free Caps
A dental crown or cap is a hollow false tooth that is built to fit over your existing tooth after it has been trimmed and shaped. The crown, usually given after performing root canal treatment, covers the entire tooth up to the gum line, restoring the shape, colour, and function of your teeth. Many are familiar with porcelain and metal-based crowns but may be less familiar with the unique advantages of a zirconia crown. Zirconia crowns are made up of zirconium dioxide (a tooth-coloured ceramic material) that offers superior strength and ductility along with excellent shade matching to the natural teeth due to the translucent nature of the material. They are also highly compatible with gums. They are cemented using a resin cement that bonds with the tooth and prevents crown dislodgment.
A well-maintained zirconia crown can last for more than a decade in the mouth, and labs provide up to 15 years of replacement warranty on the crown.
Bridges
Patients missing one or a few teeth have many modern and fixed rehabilitative options available at NovaCure Dentistry. A bridge, also known as a fixed partial denture (FPD), is used to fill or ‘bridge’ the gap due to missing teeth using the support of two or more dental crowns on either side. Patients exploring the option of dental bridges or an implant-supported bridge are encouraged to visit for a consultation. An assessment is made to evaluate the health of the supporting teeth, gums, and bones before the procedure for a bridge. Upon consultation, the doctor will explain the procedure, prepare the tooth by reducing its size from all sides, and take measurements in the absence of any other complicating factors. Dental bridges take 1 week to 10 days for final cementation.
Denture
Many patients in India suffer from complete tooth loss, causing an inability to eat and a loss of musculature and confidence. Complete dentures are used to replace all your teeth and give you the smile your beautiful face deserves. Upon consultation, your doctor will explain to you the differences between removable and fixed dentures (discussed in the implant section). Removable dentures are made of a light pink-colored acrylic material that resembles gums. The better the material, the higher the comfort and resemblance. The fabrication of dentures, however, is a tedious and long procedure that can take up to 4 weeks. After the delivery of the denture, the doctor will call you for a few follow-ups. Small irritations and blisters are common with new dentures. Your doctor will prescribe a pain-relieving gel and trim the high areas of your denture.
